Abstract
A portable carpet display system in which the colors of a particular line of carpeting are displayed on a single card which has the specifications of that line of carpeting on the reverse side, with a plurality of said cards being mounted together.

Claims
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A sample display system comprising a plurality of display cards, pivot means for assembling the display cards together so that the display cards are pivotally mounted so as to be individually movable relative to each other, a plurality of carpet samples on one face of a display card and informational data on said display card relating to the specifications of said samples, said samples on a display card being related to each other, identifying data for each sample being located adjacent the samples, the specifications of said samples being on the reverse face of said display card, a cover card being provided for said display system, the samples being mounted on the front face of each display card and located one above the other in spaced relationship to each other, said cards being spaced thickness-wise from each other and being in superimposed relationship to each other, the samples on each display card having a predetermined thickness which substantially fills the space between the display card on which the samples are mounted and the next superimposed card, the said cards and samples substantially filling the entire thickness of the display system whereby there is no substantial thickness-wise movement between the cards.

Description
The present invention relates to a carpet display system and more particularly to an improved portable carpet color and texture guide for displaying samples.

Carpets are often displayed by assembling small samples of the carpets together. The samples show the various colors of a particular line of carpeting. These samples are sometimes displayed in a catalogue book which has the color samples of a particular line of carpeting affixed to the various pages of the catalogue book and the pages would also give the specifications of that particular line of carpeting.

Samples of the colors of a particular line of carpeting may also be displayed by assembling them together with a chain or similar fastening device. A separate card may be mounted on the chain listing the specifications of the carpeting or this information may appear on the rear face of the samples.

It will be seen that with existing display systems, a salesman would have to carry numerous catalogue books or numerous chain display sets in order to be able to show a prospective customer several lines of carpeting. This is a time-consuming and cumbersome operation for a salesman.
