Abstract
An ATM currency cassette (208) includes a plurality of movable cassette information indicator buttons (214). Each button can be rotated about an axis for repositioning. The buttons can be axially moved outward and inward relative to the cassette housing (210) by rotation thereof. Different axial arrangements of the buttons represent respective different characteristics of cassette content. The cassette can be inserted into an ATM where the button positions can be read by the ATM. The cassette enables unused buttons to remain therewith and also permits a button arrangement to be changed without requiring opening of the cassette.

Claims
1. An apparatus including:

a cassette,

wherein the cassette is adapted for use in an automated banking machine,

wherein the cassette is operative to hold media therein,

wherein the cassette has an outer surface,

wherein the cassette includes a plurality of indicator members movably connected thereto,

wherein each of the members includes an end thereof and an axis,

wherein the axis is generally perpendicular to the outer surface,

wherein each end is operative to be moved between a first axial position and a second axial position,

wherein at least one of the first and second positions is spaced outwardly from the outer surface,

Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

This invention relates to automated transaction machines.

BACKGROUND ART

Automated transaction machines include automated banking machines. A common type of automated banking machine is an automated teller machine ("ATM"). ATMs may be used to perform transactions such as dispensing cash, accepting deposits, making account balance inquiries, paying bills, and transferring funds between accounts. ATMs and other types of automated banking machines may be used to dispense media or documents such as currency, tickets, scrip, vouchers, checks, gaming materials, receipts, or other media. While many types of automated banking machines, including ATMs, are operated by consumers, other types of automated banking machines may be operated by service providers. Such automated banking machines may be used by service providers to provide cash or other types of sheets or documents when performing transactions. For purposes of this disclosure, an automated banking machine shall be construed as any machine that is capable of carrying out transactions which include transfers of value.
