Abstract
A manually operable discharge pump for media is operable in a normal position and in an inverted position. A duct means 57b carries the medium. At least one valve 12b substantially closes and opens at least one duct 57b, and the valve 12b has a deformable valve body 44b cooperating with a valve seat 45b, the valve body being arranged between the valve seat and an opposite facing support face 56. The valve body 45b opens by a deformation motion providing an opening position and a closing position of the valve 12b. The valve body 54b is provided by a disk-like spring washer inserted between the valve seat 45b and the facing support face 56.

Claims
What is claimed is:

1. A manually operated dispenser for dispensing media from a media supply means, said dispenser comprising:

at least one duct means for a medium;

at least one valve for substantially closing and opening at least one said at least one duct means, said at least one valve having a valve body cooperating with a valve seat, said valve body being a resiliently deformable disk body inserted between said valve seat and an opposite facing support face, said disk body having a self-resiliency in the manner of a disk spring to be operationally resilient for performing a deformation motion providing a resting position and a second position,

said disk body being substantially planar in one of the resting position and the second position, wherein said disk body is braced between said valve seat and said support face by said self-resiliency, said disk body being substantially spherical in the other of said resting position and said second position, for moving onto and off of the valve seat.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a manually operated dispensing, distributing or delivery apparatus with a pump for the discharge of media from a storage vessel or the like. The invention operates in a normal or upright position and also in an opposite, inverted position of the apparatus.

A delivery apparatus of this type is known (German patent 28 18 560), in which a pump chamber defined by a cylinder and a pump piston displaceable therein is filled in the inverted position through an opening in the cylinder wall, whilst in the opposite normal position it is filled through a suction hose provided at the free end of the cylinder. Two checks valves are interposed. The latter suction connection must be closed by one of the check valves during the suction stroke to obtain an adequately high suction volume in the inverted position. However, during the pump stroke, said suction connection must be closed both in the normal and in the inverted position. This operation requires a very fine coordination of numerous factors, e.g. the weight of the ball valves, the flow cross-sections and the like. Therefore, satisfactory operation with this delivery apparatus cannot be achieved in both positions, particularly in view of the very small construction of such pumps and differences in manual operation.

  A manually operable atomizer of a type adapted to pressurizing the liquid to be atomized by a pumping action of a piston, upon depression of the latter...  A spray dispenser is presented which atomizes cosmetics, perfumes, and similar products to a state of fine spray throughout its entire spraying period....
